Reaction Bonded Silicon Carbide with Interspersed Free Graphite

JJISCO's Extrema 161 reaction bonded silicon carbide and graphite matrix offers RB material with an infiltrated mixture of molten silicon and graphic filling the voids. The reaction infiltration process uses a liquid phase process that includes free graphite to provide longer component operation, as well as the opportunity to achieve higher P-V's. this allows for surface lubricity where higher load and/or speeds are required.

JJISCO's Extrema 161 provides ultimate lubricity in extreme dry running conditions. This superior grade offers leading technology for controlled pore size and distribution, with controlled, interspersed graphite to optimize lubricating efforts at extreme conditions. Below are typical property values:

Extrema 161 offers superior performance when dry running conditions occur:

  • Enhanced lubricity performance
  • Superior hardness and high strength
  • High abrasion and wear resistance
  • Excellent corrosion resistance
  • Extreme thermal shock resistance
